Notes for Vincent Jr. GILPIN

Vincent Gilpin, Jr. of Malvern, PA, born December 23rd, 1929 in Minneapolis MN, died May 28th 2016 at his home.

Jim was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Udall Gilpin for more than 60 years.

He was the son of Margaret Beard Gilpin and Vincent Gilpin of West Chester, PA. He was a graduate of Deerfield Academy and Haverford College. He served in the US Navy as a lieutenant on the USS Lloyd Thomas (DDE-764). He worked for Downingtown Paper Company, which later became Sonoco Products Company, retiring after 33 years.

Through the years he enjoyed sailing, especially on the Chesapeake Bay, climbing in the White Mountains, and vacations in Newport, Sanibel, and the Jersey shore with children and grandchildren. Jim loved all animals especially his Irish Setters. He was a tennis player, a photographer, and enjoyed driving his 1931 Model A station wagon that he had had since a boy.

Jim is survived by three children: Jean Gilpin Tremblay, married to Donald Paul Tremblay and their children, John, William, Andrew (married to Elizabeth Miller), and Elizabeth, David Vincent Gilpin, married to Sharon Gutherie Gilpin, and their children, Eliza, Alexander, and Jennifer, and Edward Udall Gilpin married to Dallas Tiffany Gilpin, their children, Emma, Katherine, Megan, and John.

He will be greatly missed.

Services will be held on Wed. June 8, 2016 at 11:00am at the Paoli Presbyterian Church, 225 South Valley Rd., Paoli, PA 19301.
