Notes for Isaac Hill HIBBERD

Isaac H. Hibberd (1862-63), son of Isaac and Susan (Fairlamb) Hibberd, was born in Upper Darby, in 1833, and educated in the schools of the neighborhood. He was a well-to-do farmer, his plantation being what is now Primos. In 1869, in partnership with James Charles Andrews, the firm being Andrews & Hibberd, he engaged in cotton manufacturing at the Cedar Hill Mills, later known as the Arrott Mills, Darby borough, but the dullness succeeding the closing of the Civil War rendered the enterprise un-remunerative, and in 1873 the firm was dissolved. Several years later Isaac H. Hibberd removed to San Jose, California.
