PEYTON RANDOLPH BIDDLE, 77, a retired bank official, died Saturday at the Quadrangle in Haverford.
Mr. Biddle, a member of the well-known Philadelphia clan that came to America in 1681, was a graduate of Groton School, Groton, Mass., and of Harvard, where he earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts. He served with the Marines in the Pacific during World War II.
From 1946 until 1974, when poor health forced him to retire, he worked at Philadelphia National Bank. When he retired, he was senior vice president in charge of the investment division.
He was a former member of the Citizen's Council on City Planning, the Bond Club of Philadelphia, and the Financial Analysts of Philadelphia. He was also a member of the Philadelphia Club, Merion Cricket Club, and Pickering Hunt.
Survivors: sons, Peyton R. Jr., Packard, and William B.; and five grandchildren.
Services: June 3, 11 a.m., Church of the Redeemer, New Gulph and Pennswood Roads, Bryn Mawr.
