Living Individual, details withheldThomas E. Anfinson, CPA, was confirmed as deputy undersecretary for management of the U.S. Department of Education. Anfinson will serve as the Education Department's chief financial officer and the principal adviser to the secretary of education on administrative matters.
He is a member of the President's Council on Management Improvement, the Chief Financial Officer's Council and the Federal Credit Management Policy Oversight Board.
Prior to entering government service in 1981, Anfinson, a member of the American Institute of CPAs since 1970, was president of Anfinson Accountancy Corporation in Newport Beach, California.
