Notes for John Jr. EDWARDS
US Congressman. He was admitted to the bar in 1807, commenced law practice in Chester, Pennsylvania and was deputy attorney general for Delaware County in 1811. In 1839, he was elected as an Anti-Masonic candidate to the Twenty-sixth Congress and reelected as a Whig to the Twenty-seventh Congress, serving until 1843. After his term, he engaged in manufacturing until his death. His grandnephew John Edwards Leonard US Representative from Pennsylvania, was named after him. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
