John and Mercy went West following their marriage. They resided in Western Pennsylvania for several years, taking a certificate from Uwchlan to Exeter Monthly Meeting dated September 9, 1790.
A son Joshua accompanied his parents. John was a successful farmer in Jefferson County, Ohio."
