>From "Descendants of Joseph TAYLOR, of Kennet, Chester Co., Penna." by Gilbert COPE (1891).
"ABIAH TAYLOR, of Didcot, in Berkshire, England, had sons Abiah and Joseph,
and perhaps other children. The son Abiah married 2,16,1694, Deborah GEARING, daughter of John Gearing, of Stanford in the Vale, in the county of Berks. According to tradition he made several voyages to America before he finally settled in this country. About 1703, he settled in East Bradford township, Chester Co., Pa., and in 1724, built a brick house there, which is still standing. His marriage certificate, on parchment, is preserved by his descendants."
