Notes for Thomas GILPIN

"b. in Philadelphia, 10 Sept.,1776; d. there, 3 March, 1853, became an extensive paper-manufacturer, and in 1817 constructed a machine for making paper continuously. His works were destroyed by fire
in 1832. He published a collection of documents connected with the banishment to Virginia of his father and other Quakers (1850)." He also published "Observations and Official Documents rel. to Friends during the American Revolution" in 1848, and "On Representation of Minorities" in 1844. (see Allibone's).
