Notes for William Bennett DEMERE

Services for William Bennett Demere will be at 11 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be private. Demere, 90, died Saturday, May 13, 2000. He was born in Horry County, S.C., son of the late Thomas and Mamie Roberts Demere. He served aboard the USS Dashiell during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post No. 3. He had lived in Macon for the past 46 years and was retired from Sears as a television technician. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine K. Demere; children Brian Demere of Macon and Darlene Konenkamp of Athens; sisters Genesther Thorpe of Plantation, Fla., and Inez Mattair of Lake City, Fla.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
