MARIS, GEORGE LEWIS, educator, genealogist, author, was born April 16, 1842, in Chester county, Pa. He is principal of the George school of Buck's county, Pa. In 1877 he was president of the Pennsylvania State Teachers' Association. He is the author of Normal English Grammar; and Maris Family Record.
