Obituary- Wildwood Leader June 1, 1994
Wildwood- George C. Snyder, 57, died May 22, 1994 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House. Mr. Snyder was an assistant division manager for South Jersey Gas Company, Cape May County Division.
During more than 30 years of military service, he was commissioned a second lieutenant at the New Jersey Military Academy in Sea Girt, and volunteered for active duty, serving with the 112th Artillery Group at Fort Polk, La. during the Berlin Crisis. He attended Command and General Staff Officers College in Fort Sill, Okla. Throughout his career in the state National Guard, he held numerous staff positions and retired in 1985 as a leuitenant colonel and was promoted to colonel in the retired reserves.
Mr. Snyder was a director of the United Way of Cape May County for over 25 years and served as president of the organization.
Surviving are his wife, Lucy, three daughters, Mary Hishon of Governors Island, N.Y., Theresa Uzzolino of Somers Point and Barbara Bradshaw of North Wildwood, his mother, Florence of Orlando, Fla. two sisters Elizabeth of Orlando, and Florence Schafer of Jupiter, Fla., a brother, Horatio of Colonial Heights, Va. and three grandchildren.
