Notes for Francis YARNALL

Francis Yarnall, granted warrant for 100 acres laid out in
"Springtown", Springfield Twp., Chester Co., PA Oct. 17, 1686
(PA Archives, 3rd Series, III, pg. 180). Sold 50 acres 1/1/1685
to George Maris, Jr. Same year Yarnall mar. Hannah Baker, dau.
of Joseph Baker (Chester Court Records, pg. 64, 182). He had
arrived on ship "Bristol Comfort"; his brother, Philip, may have
also arrived on the same ship (Passengers and Ships Prior to
1684, Penn's Colony Vol. 1", by Walter Sheppard, Jr. 1985.) Francis Yarnall obtained a patent, Nov. 28, 1703, for 400 acres
next to the Indians' land. A draft of the southern part of
Willistown Twp. in 1704 shows that beginning at the SE corner
and going northward, Francis Yarnall had 510 acres. Francis Yarnall, member of Pennsylvania Assembly, 1711 and 1743
(listed in "Biographical & Portrait Cyclopedia of Chester Co." by
S. Wiley, 1893).
