Dad was getting ready to go on an extensive cross-country trip for Chic Modes, the fashion book company he worked for at the time. Mother said she told him he wasn't going without her, so they went down to city hall to get married. The only judge in his office was slightly inebriated and wrote the wrong month down on their license. Years later, they couldn't remember if it was March and he wrote April, or vice versa!
